1985 U.S. Open Highlights

The 1985 U.S. Open is remembered by many not for Andy North’s second championship title, but for T.C. Chen’s fifth hole on Sunday. Chen led North by four strokes on the fifth hole when his chip went straight up in the air and his club hit the ball a second time on his follow-through. A three-putt led to a quadruple-bogey 8 on the hole to fall into a tie with North, who finished at 1-under 279 to edge Chen, Denis Watson and Dave Barr by a stroke.
