This is how I beat Simon, by far the hardest fight in Clair Obscur | Expedition 33. This description contains a more in-depth, step-by-step guide with tips from commenters on this video. Check it out if the strat in the video doesn't totally kill Simon for you. Because there have been a few people who are following the video and still not getting enough damage to one-shot Simon, I'm including a text guide that's more in-depth: All three characters need to have the First Strike picto/lumina. You can't do this without playing first. They need to go in the following order: Maelle then Monoco/Verso then Sciel. If that isn't happening for you, spec them so Maelle has the highest speed stat, Monoco/Verso has the second highest and Sciel has the lowest. But they still need the First Strike picto/lumina. Maelle: Skills: Guard Down, Last Chance, Stendhal. Lumina: At Death's Door, Augmented First Strike, Burn Affinity, Cheater, Confident Fighter, Critical Moment, Critical Vulnerability, First Offensive, First Strike, First Offensive, Glass Canon, In Medias Res, Inverted Affinity, Painted Power, Powerful Shield, SOS Power, Shield Affinity, Solidifying. Breaker (Monoco/Verso): Skills: Anything that says "Can Break" Lumina: Auto death, Breaking Death, Burning Death, Shielding Death, Cheater, First Strike, Second Chance (All 100% necessary. These are not damage buffs; this IS the strategy in action). Sciel: Skills: Intervention, Fortune's Fury Lumina: To be safe, just do the same as Monoco/Verso (some will be redundant, but "better redundant than dead" - Socrates maybe). Use Energizing Turn and Energy Master if you’re running out of AP to cast Intervention after Fortune’s Fury. They’re expensive (20 and 40 lumina points, respectively), so it might be necessary to equip them as pictos on her. Those are the builds. Any additional damage buffs you can give Maelle (and to a much lesser extent, Monoco/Verso) might help, but aren't necessary if you follow the base build/strat and are properly leveled. Maelle Rotation: 1. Cast Guard Down on Simon (makes him defenseless) 2. Cast Last Chance on Maelle (reduces HP to 1 and puts her in the right stance) Monoco/Verso rotation: 1. Any skill that breaks Sciel Rotation: 1. Cast Fortune's Fury on Maelle (double her damage) 2. Cast Intervention on Maelle (gives Maelle 4 AP and Maelle plays immediately). Back to Maelle for the killshot: 1. Cast Stendhal BOOOM! You just beat Clair Obscur | Expedition 33 Small tip: 1. The last weapon level REALLY matters (but only for Maelle and, to a lesser extent, the breaker, in this fight). It's a huge damage jump. If you're getting close to killing Simon but not downing him entirely, head to the Floating Manor and kill one of the four mini bosses for the catalyst you need to max out Maelle's weapon. Those fights are trivial compared to this. 2. If you’re coming up just a little bit short, try equipping the Roulette picto/lumina on Maelle. It got it done for at least one person here. 3. I’m using Medalum on Maelle here, but this is NOT required. In fact, its main perk doesn’t even help here. Ironically, it’s definitely her best weapon, but not particularly good in the hardest fight. Also, don't feel bad if this fight was significantly harder than all the others combined. It was for EVERYONE, even if they're saying otherwise. At the time of posting this, less than 1% of players on Xbox have the associated achievement. EVERYONE is struggling. #clairobscurexpedition33 #expedition33 #expedition33gameplay #clairobscur
