Most Democrats Want Biden To Be The Party's Nominee In 2024

A new poll has found that a majority of Democrats - 58% - want President Biden to be the Party's nominee for 2024. At the same time, Biden's approval rating has hit 44%, still down from his first few months but certainly an improvement over the past year. According to the latest round of polling, Joe Biden's actually doing pretty dang good. His approval rating is ticked back up to 44%. And I know that's still a very low approval rating, but compared to the last year, it's the best Biden's had in 12 months. His disapproval rating, of course, is still at 48%. But the big thing Biden has going for him now is that now a majority of Democrats do say that they want Biden to be the 2024 presidential nominee. Months ago, that wasn't the case. Most Democrats said We want somebody else. But Biden has apparently earned his uh uh place. He's proven to a lot of Democrats out there that, yes, I can do things. I'm not doing everything you want. Certainly the case with the things I would like to see. But he's done enough to where a lot of Democrats, most Democrats, again, according to the poll, have said, you know what? Give him another four years. So here's the thing, the poll says 58% of registered Democrats said Biden should be the nominee, while 42% said it should be somebody else. So you've got a 16 point difference. Which big gap, 16 points is a big gap. So Biden kind of has it made right. Well, here's the problem. It's not actually even really a problem with Biden, although Biden right now in the polls loses to both Trump and DeSantis, but those polls kind of keep flipping around. So I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in those right Now. The problem is not Biden, the problem is the Democratic party. And I think that's what's really swaying these Democratic voters. It's not that they look at Biden and say, oh hell yeah, let's do another four. Here we go, come on, let's get it going. I don't think that's what's happening. I think most of these voters are saying, well, should Biden be the nominee? Who else would it be? See, that's the question they're asking. And when you ask yourself that question, like, who could be the nominee? Like who has good enough policies and is popular enough? Who could win and who do I like? And suddenly the names, the numbers of people start dwindling down to the point where most people say, I don't know who can take up the mantle. That's the problem the Democrats have. It's not that we're stuck with Biden, it's that nobody else is really rising up right now to the moment to show they're a leader. The closest we do have, of course, is Gavin Newsom. And the reason people say Gavin Newsom is because the news says Gavin Newsom. So who knows? I've said repeatedly, I like Katie Porter, but I don't think she's there yet. And of course she's running for Senate. I hope she wins that seat because that is an obvious stepping stone to the presidency. So if she can get That Senate seat, I do think next stop White House, hopefully. Um, you know, but who else after that? Bernie Sanders is too old to run. Again, I'm sorry folks, but he is, if Biden's too old right now, so is Bernie. If Trump is too old, so is Bernie. I still love Bernie's policies. I still agree with him on most things. I still think he'd be a great president, but I think that age is 100% prohibitive for him running again. So beyond that, who? Jeff Merkley? I don't think he's well known enough yet. I like him personally. I'd love to see him on a ticket with Katie Porter. I don't think he's there. So maybe that's why all these Democrats are saying, yeah, Biden should be the nominee. Not necessarily because they love Biden, they don't hate him, but they may not be in love with him.
