The Indian indices opened marginally lower today. The Sensex was down 227.09 points or 0.27 percent at 83,349.15, and the Nifty was down 61.50 points or 0.24 percent at 25,621.80. About 994 shares advanced, 1510 shares declined, and 216 shares unchanged.
