Alan Blinder: ‘A Monetary & Fiscal History of the United States, 1961-2021’

Alan Blinder was Vice Chair of the Federal reserve from 1994 to 1996, and also served on Bill Clinton’s Council of Economic Advisers, where he faced off against the bond vigilantes. He’s now an economics professor at Princeton University. In this interview with M&G’s Jim Leaviss he discusses the developments in US economic policy from JFK’s ‘New Economics’, through monetarism and Volker, and to QE and the present day.
