Gender Equality Through Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions

As part of our #anhenVERIN campaign and monthly International Womens Day celebrations, we asked people in the development field in how Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) is important in achieving gender equality in their opinion. Here's Jomart Ormonbekov, Peace and Development Advisor at the United Nations in the Maldives explaining how #SDG16 is about making our societies peaceful, more just and stronger which will help us towards the empowerment of women. It is impossible to imagine that we achieve these important goals without meaningful participation of women in all levels of decision making process. Voices coming from women`s groups at the grassroots level, female lawmakers and the civil society are vital for shaping the tomorrow`s world.
