At a Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) community centre in Toronto, Christine Elliott, the Ontario health minister, announces that the provincial government is providing over $147 million to expand mental health and addiction services and to support capacity pressures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new funding will go towards measures such as hiring more staff and adding housing and short-term accommodation. The minister is joined by Michael Anhorn, CEO of the CMHA's Toronto Branch, and Michael Tibollo, the province’s associate minister of mental health and addictions. (December 17, 2020)
