F1 Drivers RACE Life-Size LEGO Cars!

The LEGO Group and Formula 1 continue celebrating their multi-year partnership by making racing history at the Miami Grand Prix Driver’s Parade. Representing every team on the grid, the two brands unveiled 10 fully drivable LEGO big build F1 cars with race drivers behind the wheel. Each drivable build can reach speeds of 12 mph. This marks the first time F1 drivers get behind the wheel of LEGO cars. | Source: The LEGO Group/ Formula 1 Inspired by the LEGO F1 Speed Champions range, these vehicles were created by a skilled team of 26 designers, engineers, and LEGO builders over the course of 22,000 hours. Made in the LEGO Group’s Kladno factory in the Czech Republic, each functional build consists of nearly 400,000 LEGO bricks, weighs more than 3,300 pounds, and can reach speeds of 12 mph. Along with F1 drivers completing a lap as part of the Drivers’ Parade, these vehicles also mark racing history for both brands. The reveal of these creations marks the first time the LEGO Group has produced multiple drivable builds at the same time. For Formula 1, this is the first time drivers have gotten behind the wheel of LEGO cars.
