British International School Hanoi - Year 5 students with Rube Goldberg machine

If you had been walking down our KS2 corridor yesterday then you may have heard the screams and wondered what was happening! Nothing to worry about, thankfully, as the screams came from Year 5 children who had set themselves a very ambitious challenge to produce a Rube Goldberg machine. A Rube Goldberg machine is a contraption that aims to perform a simple task in a very complicated way! An unbelievable amount of team work and perseverance was evident as the children were determined to start the machine with a marble and, after a complicated journey, set off a blender to make a smoothie.
