How To Make Chunk Candles - DIY Candle Making

Chunk Candles are a fun twist on plain container candles. They're made by adding colored chunks of wax to a container that will be filled with white or clear wax so the colored chunks make a dramatic pop in the candle. The method I used in this tutorial was creating a brand new candle with a fresh wick. However another option is to start with a taper or pillar candle in the center of a container, drop the wax chunks around it, and then fill in the space with your wax pour. Either method will work. To keep your chunks looking sharp and crisp, keep your pouring temperature on the lower end of the range. If you prefer to have your chunks kind of melt into the candle (which produces a slightly marbled effect), pour your wax on the higher side of the temperature rage to help melt the edges of the chunks. And you can even give your container a few gentle, circular swirls to help pull more color streams out of the chunks.
