Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash near 44th and Washington streets in Phoenix

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car Thursday night near 44th and Washington streets. Police say a man was crossing mid-block when he was hit by a small passenger vehicle. The man was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. The vehicle that hit the man drove away from the scene, according to police.
