‘Speaker Johnson Is Covering Up For Pedophiles’: Gallego On Delay Swearing In Grijalva | TRENDING

Arizona Sens. Ruben Gallego (D) and Mark Kelly (D) were among the speakers at a press event Wed., Oct. 15, calling on House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to swear in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ). Grijalva recently won a special election, but has not received formal admission to Congress. Speaker Johnson, who has said he will not swear in Arizona's newly elected representative until the government shutdown ends, made an exception for two new Republican members based on their visiting family members, according to Kelly. At Wednesday's event, which was led by Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), both Grijalva herself and Gallego asserted that Johnson aims to keep her out of Congress as long as possible, since she would tip the balance in favor of a vote to release the files related to the late, disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
