This is an update to my old video on the converted FX-707 hand launched free flight foamy EPO glider I flew at Camperdown VIC earlier this year. I've added a Tahmazo Apollo brushless spinner hub motor which is available from Singapore Hobby Supplies. These are great little compact drive units that come with a small outrunner brushless motor embedded in the spinner and includes the 7x4.5 folding prop blades. The Zippy 2s 850mah pack provides enough thrust for the all up weight of only 300g! The Turnigy Plush 15A esc was the smallest I had that could squeeze into the nose as the measured current draw was only 3A at WOT. Needed just over 20g of weight in the tail to balance at the original CG. I also replaced the original 2.5mm carbon wing joiner with 2.5mm diameter piano wire to support the extra weight. The glider flew surprisingly well in the windy conditions despite being thrown about and the wing flexed a bit! Thanks for watching!
