Woods Live 'Strange To Explain' Live San Francisco 2022

Woods played live at The Chapel on June 9th 2022 with The Reds, Pinks and Purples featuring Glenn Donaldson. This was an incredible show. Woods knows how to blend heartfelt folk, rock and psychedelia like no one else. This band as released at least 15 full length albums since 2005. Jeremy Earl and Jarvis Taveniere have worked with too many bands to count as musicians, recording engineers, mixing, mastering, producing and running a record label. These two have had a behind the scenes impact on the music scene that is seldom recognized. * I was right in front of the amps for the keyboardist and Jeremy Earl so their instruments are prominent in these recordings.* Woods is their premiere project. It all started with lo-fi home recordings on a tape machine, not a 70s recording studio tape machine a literally on cassette tape. Their first albums were released on Night People a cassette arthouse label in Iowa. Soon after they started releasing their own music on their own label Woodist. In more recent history they released Strange to Explain recorded in the Bay Area at Stinson Beach, and Love Is Love. Strange To Explain has some of Woods' most beautiful moments and settles into a calming vibe. Strange To Explain is on my list of favorite Woods' album. Love Is Love has Woods' signature sound with a bit of reggae in the mix. Love Is Love Saw the band move toward larger arrangements highlighting the production savy of the band. The concert was wonderful it was a greatest hits affair with a few new songs and selections from every period of their career. The band included long form psychedelic rock jams, calming folk songs all played impeccably. There are several videos of the show on Th Psych Rock Youtube channel be sure to subscribe and check out the music happening in the Bay Area.
