Hraezlyr is a dragon in God of War that Kratos and Atreus must defeat in combat to save Sindri as they climb the highest mountain in Midgard. One of the most surprising boss fights in God of War is the battle against Hraezlyr the dragon, a former Jotunheim resident who made his home in Midgard. Hraezlyr is first encountered as Kratos and Atreus climb the tallest mountain in Midgard in God of War, and there are multiple occasions in which the father and son duo encounter the dragon. As they nearly reach the top of the mountain mine, Kratos and Atreus find that Sindri, the Dwarven Blacksmith, is under attack from Hraezlyr. Sindri and his brother Brok in God of War are able to travel in a realm between realms in order to reach new places in the nine realms before anyone else. Sindri is able to hide his presence from most creatures when traveling, with the only known exception being dragons. Though it was unknown to him, Sindri accidentally put himself in harm's way when he crossed Hraezlyr's path, prompting Atreus and Kratos to come to his aid. Hraezlyr, naturally, is one of the strongest creatures in God of War due to the fact that dragons have a massive amount of stamina, vitality, and overall strength. There are very few weak points on Hraezlyr, and, unlike the typical dragon, Hraezlyr is able to spout an enormous streak of lightning from his mouth. He can even shoot it upward in order to bring lightning down upon Hraezlyr's enemies. There isn't any skill Kratos can upgrade in God of War to defend against Hraezlyr's attacks. Instead, Kratos and Atreus will have to rely upon the red sap in the area to deal damage to Hraezlyr.
