BuyBust (2018) - Filipino Movie Review

Erik, the Asian Movie Enthusiast presents: A review of “BuyBust”, a Filipino action/thriller from 2018 that was directed by Erik Matti and stars Anne Curtis. The film begins with an interrogation scene of a mid-level drug dealer who may know the location of a big time crime boss by the name of Biggy Chen. We are then are introduced to our female protagonist, who trains in her new squad after her old squad was killed on duty. She has a serious mistrust for her superiors because of this, and she clashes with her new squad leader. In any case, they get orders to execute a massive bust in an urban barangay, but they become trapped and hunted down by criminals and civilians alike. This is a fun action flick with atmosphere and a big body count.
