15-year-old dead, another injured in Charlotte crash

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a crash that killed one 15-year-old and seriously injured a 44-year-old person in southwest Charlotte early Sunday morning. Officers said they responded to an accident near the intersection of South Tryon Street and Erwin Road just after 1 a.m. where they found a vehicle flipped over. When Medic arrived on the scene, they found an overturned 2015 Kia Optima with significant front-end damage and a 2015 GMC Acadia with major front-end damage.
