Twenty years after the nuclear war devastated the Earth, the humanity was forced to survive in the underground labyrinth of the Moscow Metro. Artyom was born shortly before the war and was raised entirely in the metro. His life changes when strange creatures known as the Dark Ones threatens his home station. After a Spartan Ranger named Hunter warn of the impending danger, Artyom embarks on a journey to reach Polis, the central hub of civilization, to get help to stop the Dark Ones.
