Check the expiry date of the catheter and Open the catheter pack aseptically, Draw up 10-15 ml sterile water in syringe and lignocaine gel Wash and dry your hands. Put on sterile gloves. Record the date and time of catheterisation, type and size of catheter used, and volume of urine in the Cather bag
