Why is the Senate afraid of a long-term solution?

Congressman Tim Huelskamp appeared on CNN's "In the Arena" on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. He talked about the plan the House is going to consider on the debt, as well as the Senate's inaction on "Cut, Cap, Balance." He called on Majority Leader Reid to bring the House-passed "Cut, Cap, Balance" to a vote on the floor. He also talked about how the Treasury Department has not been forthcoming with information about the cash flow despite its claims that August 2 is the date in which it cannot pay bills.
