Evening Snacks - Vellai appam / வெள்ளையப்பம் | Bizarre Sunshine

Ingredients: Pacharisi (Raw rice) - 1 cup Idli rice - 1 cup Ulunthu - 1 cup Chopped Coconut - 1/4 cup Chopped Carrot - 1/4 cup Green Chili - 2-3 No. Ginger - 1-2 inch Black pepper - 1 tsp Salt, oil - as required Cooking Method: Step1: Take 1 cup pacharisi (raw rice), 1 cup ulunthu (urad dal), and 1 cup idly rice soak them for 2 hours. Step2: Chop the coconut, carrot, green chili, and ginger finely. Step3: Grind the rice and ulunthu either separately or together in grinder with very less water and make the batter in thick consistency. Step4: Add all chopped coconut, carrot, green chili, ginger and 1 tsp black pepper to the batter, mix it well. Step5: Let the batter rest for 3 hours, don't leave it over night. Step6: Deep fry them in oil and enjoy it with coconut chutney of your taste. Serve it nice and hot!!!
