30-Minute Yoga Nidra for Emotional and Somatic Healing | "Restoring Trust in the Body"

30-Minute Yoga Nidra for Emotional and Somatic Healing | "Restoring Trust in the Body"

In this restorative 30-minute Yoga Nidra practice, JackieOM gently guides you through a journey of deep rest and reconnection — an embodied follow-up to Episode 17, “When Love Hurts: What Our Bodies Know Before Our Minds Do.” This practice invites you to soften, release, and rebuild trust within your own body. Through guided awareness and visualization, you’ll learn to listen to the language of your nervous system — the sensations, the stillness, and the truth beneath the surface. As you rest in the spaciousness of Yoga Nidra, the body remembers safety, the heart opens, and the soul exhales. This is your time to return home to yourself — fully seen, fully heard, fully loved. • Gentle relaxation and nervous system regulation • Emotional release through guided awareness • Restoring inner safety and self-trust • Deep rest for the heart and mind • Healing the body’s relationship with love and safety • A trauma-sensitive, soul-centered meditation practice How To Prepare For Practice Yoga Nidra can be practiced at any time of day when you need the reset - in the morning to set the tone of your day, midday to realign, or in the evening to fall asleep. You are encouraged to set up a space where you can comfortably lie on your back as if you're going to sleep. Perhaps a bolster or pillow underneath your knees, a blanket to cover your body, and an eye mask or towel to minimize your intake of light. Get cozy and comfy - ANYONE CAN DO THIS practice! What is Yoga Nidra? NSDR (Non-Sleep Deep Rest) is the scientific term for Yoga Nidra, the ancient art of bringing the body and the mind to the state of deep rest, relaxation and regeneration. During Yoga Nidra, you are not asleep, but submerged into the sweet state between sleep and wakefulness where the brain enters theta waves. In theta, transformation and healing occurs from beyond the mind rather than through the mind gifting us with the ability to rewire the brain for greater mental and emotional balance and resiliency. Studies show that a single session of Yoga Nidra equates to three hours of restorative sleep improving working memory, creativity, and executive function, as well as reducing stress hormones and increasing the scores of wellbeing and joyfulness. After you listen, spend a few moments journaling or simply noticing: 1. What sensations in my body feel different after this practice? 2. Where do I feel trust — or resistance — within me? 3. What does emotional safety mean to me today?
