At last, Mimir guides them toward the Lake of Nine, where a hidden path reveals itself. As they descend deeper into the icy realm, reality begins to unravel around them. The Norns test them with visions and taunts — illusions of enemies, twisted echoes of past battles, and whispered truths aimed at breaking their resolve. Kratos fights through hallucinated raiders, draugr, and memories of foes long dead, all while Freya steels herself against the Norns’ cruel insight into her own heart. Then, in the stillness of an underground chamber, they finally meet the Norns. Not as three sisters in physical form — but as shifting reflections of truth itself, speaking with voices that seem to know them more deeply than they know themselves. The Norns reveal what Kratos fears most: Heimdall intends to kill Atreus. And in response, Kratos will travel to Asgard — driven not by prophecy, but by the choice to protect his son.
