Alleged Lethal Drug Source Denies Selling Fentanyl To Kouri Richins' Housekeeper

Alleged Lethal Drug Source Denies Selling Fentanyl To Kouri Richins' Housekeeper

Kouri Richins' housekeeper testified she obtained the fentanyl she says she gave Richins through Robert Crozier. However, Crozier testified today (Friday, February 27), and he said he never sold fentanyl to Carmen Lauber and instead sold her 30mg oxycodones. The testimony is a huge problem for prosecutors, who allege Richins poisoned her husband, Eric, by putting fentanyl in a Moscow Mule cocktail for him on March 2022. Brad Bloodworth, the chief criminal prosecutor in Summit County, Utah, questioned Crozier in direct-exam. You can watch Crozier testify in cross-exam here:    • 'Everybody Was Scared Of Fentanyl' Alleged...   Richins' defense is that Eric died of a self-inflicted drug overdose and his family pushed investigators to implicate her. 04:29 "She asked me if I would talk to her friend, I don't remember her name, and get some Roxys for her, the oxycodone." 05:28 "As far as I remember, she was asking for Roxys, for the oxycodone." "Did she identify what she was asking for by any label other than Roxys?" "No." "Did you at that time believe that Roxys meant oxycodone?" "Yes, the only thing that I know, I know that they mean." 07:36 "I mean, she was in the she was in a car. I went up to the car. She handed me the money. I gave her the pills, and then went our separate ways." 09:05 "Were you selling a lot of drugs around this time?" "I wouldn't say a lot." 11:54 "I remember like I was in jail. I hadn't been there very long. I was on a lot of drugs at that time. So, like, I was detoxing from those drugs and these I remember, like going in a conference room and and speaking with them. But I, I don't really recall a lot of the discussion which jail." 12:30 "Do you recall whether they asked you if Carmen asked for blues specifically or fentanyl specifically?" "I have read like the I have read the report so like I, I know that they did, but I don't remember them saying that to me." 15:55 "Sir, when the investigators asked you whether Carmen Lauber asked specifically for blues or fentanyl or oxy. How did you respond?" "I said that she asked probably for blues, but at that time, Roxys were blues. It wasn't like, it was like the slang on the street was, you know, people bought Roxys. They were buying blues. It was before, you know, this influx of fentanyl." 20:20 "Do you recall whether police asked you if Carmen Lauber knew there was fentanyl in the pills that you sold her?" "I don't recall." 23:19 "Did you say in that affidavit, that one time you sold Roxy 30s and one time you sold blues?" "Yes, but again, blues are at that time, blues are Roxy 30s." 24:28 "So, sir, you've never sold Oxycontin?" "Never." 24:52 "Yes, as I was sitting in jail and going over it with the defense attorney, she was. Was crossing the oxycontin out because I kept saying that's oxycodone and that she was crossing other words out, like there was a whole bunch of different words that were put in there that were typos or or they weren't the right words. They certainly weren't my words." 27:43 "Were you selling pills at the end of 2022?" "I wasn't selling Roxys anymore. I was only selling fentanyl at that time." "Were you selling pills in late 2021 and early 2022? Selling Roxys?" "Then yes." How do you know what was inside the pills that you were selling?" "Because I had multiple people that had prescriptions." 32:04 "Is it fair to summarize your testimony today that you sold Carmen Lauber on at least one, maybe two occasions, M 30s and Blues, and you believe that M 30s and Blues referred to at that time, oxycodone?" "Yes." Background: Kouri Richins, 35, is accused of fatally poisoning her husband, Eric Richins, with fentanyl at their home in Kamas, Utah, in March 2022. After he died, she self-published a children's book she authored titled "Are You With Me?" about coping with grief. Eric Richins, 39, was found dead in their home on March 4, 2022. Prosecutors allege Kouri dropped a lethal dose of fentanyl in a Moscow Mule cocktail she prepared for him. They say she was motivated by money because she owed nearly $5 million to lenders and had changed her husband's life insurance policies prior to his death while also taking out a home equity line of credit without his knowledge. She also was in a romantic relationship with another man.
