Charlie Chaplin's twentieth film was released on July 9, 1914. Known as Laffing Gas or Busy Little Dentist. Charlie, who is merely a helper, poses as a dentist. Charlie knocks a patient out with a club after he starts giggling uncontrollably after receiving anesthetic. He is directed to the pharmacy where he engages in a physical altercation with a man who later becomes a patient and yanks the wife of the dentist's skirt off (who is out walking). Charlie once uses gigantic pliers to remove the incorrect tooth.
