5 Signs Your Child Is Under Spiritual Attack (NEVER IGNORE) | C.s. Lewis There is no battlefield more precious, no ground more sacred, than the soul of a child. In the quiet hours of your home, behind the laughter and games, a spiritual war is raging—often unseen, but no less real. The enemy, subtle and cunning, knows something many parents have forgotten: children are arrows in the quiver of God, aimed to pierce the darkness. And so, if he cannot break the warrior, he aims for the arrow. The devil doesn't wait for our children to become adults—he starts when they are vulnerable, impressionable, pure. Today, I want to share with you 5 unmistakable signs your child may be under spiritual attack—and more importantly, what you must do as a guardian of their soul. 1. Sudden Fear, Anxiety, or Night Terrors When your child begins waking up in fear, plagued by nightmares or a persistent sense of dread, do not dismiss it as mere imagination. we live in enemy-occupied territory, and the enemy often preys in the night. Fear is the first weapon he uses to break down faith. Pray over their bed. Anoint their room. Speak Psalm 91 into the air like it is armor—and it will be. 2. Rebellion Without Cause or Reason If a child who was once gentle suddenly becomes hostile, irritable, or disrespectful without any clear cause, understand: it may be spiritual warfare. Rebellion is the seed the enemy planted first in heaven and now sows into children’s hearts. As Lewis taught, true obedience is a form of love. Bring your child back through love, patience, and fervent intercession. 3. Withdrawal from Faith and Prayer The enemy fears a praying child. If your child, once joyful in prayer or reading Scripture, now avoids anything holy, don’t take it lightly. The devil silences the soul before he attacks it. Rekindle faith gently—through worship music, bedtime devotions, or shared testimonies. Let your home become a garden where the presence of God dwells richly. 4. Sudden Change in Friends or Media Choices Children are sponges. The enemy often uses peers and media as silent mentors of darkness. If your child is drawn to shows, games, or friends that speak death, rage, or perversion, intervene—not with condemnation, but with wisdom. As Lewis put it, “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream”—help your child dream with God again. 5. Loss of Identity or Self-Worth This may be the most dangerous of all. Whken a child says, “I hate myself,” or “I wish I wasn’t here,” know this: the serpent has whispered a lie, and your child is listening. Crush that lie with truth. Tell them daily who they are in Christ. Remind them they are fearfully and wonderfully made. The enemy flees where truth is boldly declared. So, what must you do? You must stand. Stand as the priest of your home. Stand as the warrior God called you to be. Put on the armor of God—not just for you, but for them. Speak life. Speak love. Guard your home like it is the last stronghold on earth. Because in many ways, it is. Children are not just the future—they are the present battle. But take heart, dear parent.
