Monday Morning Forecast for Baton Rouge 9-22-25: More Rain and a Slight Cooldown is on the Way This

Meteorologist Ashley Renee has your 7:15 am forecast. Good morning everyone and happy Monday! Hopefully you all enjoyed the beautiful weather we had this weekend; especially Saturday. Yesterday, we had some sunshine but then skies were mostly cloudy and a little rain moved into parts of our viewing area. On Saturday, Baton Rouge had a morning low of 67 degrees and an afternoon high of 95 degrees. On Sunday, Baton Rouge had a morning low of 65 degrees and an afternoon high of 94 degrees. It was definitely still hot for the last weekend of Summer. Now it’s time to say goodbye to Summer and say hello Fall! This week will still be hot, but not as warm thanks to more rain moving through and a cold front that will move through later this week. For today, it's going to be hot and still feeling like Summer on this first day of Fall. One or two isolated showers are possible by the end of the morning. Scattered showers will pass through this afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the low 90s. Skies will be partly cloudy this evening and then become mostly clear later tonight. Overnight lows will be in the low 70s. Tuesday morning will be warm and mostly dry. An isolated shower could move through at the end of the morning, but the morning will basically be dry. Scattered showers will move through our area during the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the low 90s. The middle of this week will be our transitional period. A cold front will approach our area from the northwest. A few showers will pass through Wednesday morning, but scattered showers and thunderstorms will move through our area Wednesday afternoon and night. This could continue overnight into Thursday as the front is still making its way through our area. A marginal risk for severe weather is in place for Wednesday. In the afternoon is when we could have strong or severe thunderstorms and gusty winds. Hail will be possible too. Highs will be in the low 90s on Wednesday, but after the frontal passage, temperatures will be a little lower for the end of the week. Highs will be in the 80s on Thursday and Friday. Rain will continue Thursday morning and afternoon and eventually clear out Thursday night. The weekend will be nicer with sunshine, slightly lower temps and lower humidity. Tracking the Tropics: Gabrielle upgraded from a tropical storm to a hurricane on Sunday. As of 4 AM Monday, Gabrielle has maximum sustained wind speeds of 90 mph and is moving NNW at 10 mph.
