(ambient) Steve Performs It's Now or Never/O sole mio at Conservatory of the Ozarks Recital, 2025

Congratulations to Ms. Heather's inspiring voice student, Steve Breedlove, for a impressive performance of It's Now of Never and O sole mio. Steve has been developing his vocal talents with Ms. Heather since 2010. Steve’s musical journey with the Conservatory of the Ozarks has included numerous studio recitals, masterclasses, competitions, community outreach performances and even live television appearances. At the Conservatory of the Ozarks Rescheduled Romance Recital on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025, at Charity Baptist Church, Steve was joined for his vocal solo by Conservatory of the Ozarks studio instrumentalists, Riley Loredo on the piano and Dwight Trollinger on bass. Steve first heard O sole mio as a child on television and immediately was struck by how moving and beautiful the Neolpolitan song was. Later Steve encountered the Elvis Presley rendition of the melody made famous as It’s Now or Ne+ver as one of the best-selling singles of all time. English translation: What a beautiful thing is a sunny day! The air is serene after a storm, The air is so fresh that it already feels like a celebration. What a beautiful thing is a sunny day! But another sun, even more beauteous, oh my sweetheart, My own sun, shines from your face! This sun, my own sun, Shines from your face; It shines from your face! Your window panes shine; A laundress is singing and boasting about it; And while she’s wringing the clothes, hanging them up to dry, and singing, Your window panes shine. When night comes and the sun has gone down, I almost start feeling melancholy; I’d stay below your window, when night comes and the sun has gone down.
