Professional voice recordings at home: Voiceover tips for top quality!

With these techniques, you can take your voiceover recordings to the next level, even at home! In this video, you'll get an overview of voiceover recording: from recording to post-production to mixing. I'll show you how to use the most important audio effects in Cubase, which you'll also find in any other good audio software. Write as you speak, and keep sentences short. Avoid complicated grammar. A large-diaphragm condenser microphone is ideal for voice recordings. Make sure it has 48 volts of phantom power. ► Wear headphones while recording to prevent other tracks from being picked up through the microphone. Closed-back headphones are particularly good for this. ► Ensure your recording quality is high from the start. Record in uncompressed WAV format, at least 44.1 kHz and 24 bits. ► Make rehearsal recordings to set the correct recording level. If you record too quietly, you'll end up with a noisy recording. If you record too loudly, individual syllables may clip and sound distorted.
