(12 Aug 2017) Pakistan's deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif held a rally in the city of Muridke on Saturday and addressed crowds of cheering supporters. Sharif is currently holding on-the-road rallies across Punjab, where the city of Lahore — the Sharif family's hometown — is the provincial capital. His final rally is expected sometime this weekend in Lahore. Pakistan's Supreme Court ordered Sharif removed from office on 28 July for concealing his assets. Sharif denies the corruption allegations. Lawmaker Shahid Khaqan Abbasi replaced Sharif after the ruling.
