Hyundai Motor Company has confirmed that it has initiated a voluntary recall of its NEXO hydrogen fuel cell vehicle in at least two European Union (EU) countries, including the Netherlands and Germany. According to the European Commission on the 13th (local time), NEXO vehicles manufactured between December 17, 2017, and October 5, 2021, were added to the "Safety Gate" alert list, the EU's consumer safety emergency alert system, as of the 10th. According to the Commission's report, a potential hydrogen detector malfunction was discovered in NEXO vehicles manufactured in Germany during that period, and the same issue was additionally reported in the Netherlands.
