Here’s a quick & flavorful Tawa Pulao recipe straight from the streets of Mumbai. Tomato Chilli Paste Tomatoes: 2 roughly chopped Ginger: 1 inch Garlic Pods: 10-12 Red Chilli Whole: 5-6 Blend everything together and keep aside. Ingredients For Pulao 1 Cup Rice: washed and soked for atleast 1 hour. Capsicum: 1/2 cup finely chopped Onion: 1/2 cup finely chopped Beans: 1/2 cup finely chopped Green peas: 1/2 cup finely chopped You can also add cubes of boiled potato and other veggies of your choice. Green Chilli: 4-5 finely chopped Jeera: 1tsp Kashmiri mirchi powder: 1tbsp Pav Bhaji Masala: 2 tbsp Haldi Powder: 1 tsp Oil as required Salt to taste Boil your rice, drain the water, spread them on a plate and keep under a fan. Bring them to room temperature and keep in the refrigerator. On a tawa (preferably iron dosa tawa or nonstick) heat some oil and add jeera. Once jeera starts crackling add green chillies and onion. After the onions turn translucent add other veggies (beans, capsicum, peas, etc ) one by one. Cook them well and make a well in between the tawa as shown in the video. Add some oil, haldi powder, kashmiri mirchi powder and pav bhaji masala. Now add tomato chilli paste and cook till the water evoporates completely. Add salt to taste. Mix everything and add cooked rice. Once the rice and veggies are completely mixed add coriander and serve hot with some onions on the side.
