How to Disable Audio Track on VLC Media Player [NEW]

The easiest way to quickly and temporarily disable the audio track while a video is playing in VLC Media Player is by using the simple menu option built into the playback controls. To stop the audio, simply right-click anywhere on the playing video to bring up the context menu, hover over the Audio option, hover over Audio Track, and then select Disable from the list of available tracks. Alternatively, you can use the main menu bar by clicking Audio $\rightarrow$ Audio Track $\rightarrow$ Disable, which immediately stops the audio output without having to mute the entire system or stop the video.
