The Spokane Fire Department discovered threats to burn down Spokane at multiple locations around the city before several fires broke out in the area Thursday, threatening homes and property. The threats were written around the city, reading: "Burn Spokane Down 8/3/23 $900 Million - Not One Person Housed Burn Spokane Tax payers where did all your $ go? Its your right to know Your responsibility" Many of the threats were written in downtown Spokane on Post Street near 1st Avenue. Spokane Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer held a press conference to address these threats. Schaeffer says he believes four man-made fires were sparked in the West Hills neighborhood on Thursday. He acknowledged the messages that were written on the viaduct, and they're looking at security footage to see who wrote them. Schaeffer says the Sunset Fire was eight acres total with no structures damaged or injuries. He says everyone will be off the fire line by 7 p.m. on Friday. ►Subscribe: / 4newsnow ►Website: http://www.kxly.com ►Twitter: / kxly4news ►Facebook: / kxly4news
