Final Fantasy VI HD Walkthrough Part 13: Escape Final/Espionage Part 1

After a long travel we find ourselves attacked by a giant octopus called Ultros. This guy is an annoying boss at the best of times and he is seen through out the game. The easiest way to deal with him here is to have Bannon heal with his ability from the back row, have Terra double hit with the Genji Gloves, use Edgar's tools, and have Sabin use Blitz each turn. Ultros will probably launch off some large attacks every once in a while so make sure to keep your health up. After a while he will stop attacking and enter into a speech which ends with Sabin launching himself into the water after the squid. When he resurfaces Ultros returns and drags him off the raft and down a split stream away from the others. At this point, when we reach the end of the rapids, we are given a selection screen of three scenario's, one for each splinter group of the original party. I went with Locke's first, but you can do them in any order. Know that Sabin's is the longest. Locke separated from the fairly early on and headed back to South Figaro to try and undermine the Empire's presence there. While there was not much he could do to lessen the Imperial grip, he would try to at least insure the safety of the townspeople.
