Misha Glenny @ 5x15 - Reality of Cybercrime

September 19th 2011, The Tabernacle Misha Glenny is the author of McMafia: Seriously Organised Crime, in which he illuminated the byzantine outlines of global organized crime in minute detail. Whether pot smugglers in British Columbia, oil/weapons/people traffickers in Eastern Europe, Japanese yakuza or Nigerian scammers, Glenny penetrated the convoluted, globalized and franchised modern underworld - often at considerable personal risk. While covering the Central Europe beat for the Guardian and the BBC, Glenny wrote several acclaimed books on the fall of Yugoslavia and the rise of the Balkan nations. His newest book is Darkmarket: Cyberthieves, Cybercops and You, which he discusses in this talk.
