This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2026 Subaru Uncharted compact, electric SUV. Subaru says, the brand went with the name Uncharted to signal to vehicle’s capability and fun to drive nature. Uncharted has a Subaru tuned suspension and a turning radius equal to the Crosstrek. Subaru says, engineers developed Uncharted to have great grip on loose surfaces such as gravel or dirt and snow through extensive chassis development. Lightweight and rigid high-strength steel was used in its construction to provide structural support from its underfloor batteries and aerodynamic enhancements. The Uncharted has a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery. There will be two FWD models with 221 horsepower. The FWD long range model has more than 480 kms/298 miles of range. There are two Symmetrical AWD models with X-Mode, Sport and GT with 338 horsepower and 460 km/285 miles of range. For AWD models 0-100 km/h in less than 5 seconds. Compared to the Solterra EV, this small electric vehicle is 6.7” shorter. Same exterior lighting as the 2026 Solterra and Trailseeker, it also features weather resistant headlamps and a six-star illuminated logo. Uncharted has 18”-20” wheels and a two-tone roof exclusively on GT models. At the rear, the combination lamps have a sleek look, there’s black badging, a silver painted lower rear fascia and a higher beltline. You can get low-profile roof rails on AWD models for carrying your gear. Standard features include, a 14” touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, dual wireless chargers at the front centre console and dual USB-C chargers for rear seat passengers Space behind the second row is 24.7 cubic feet. Uncharted comes with a standard NACS charge port with speeds up to 150 kW. It has an 11-kW onboard charger and with a DC Fast charger, it will go from 10-80% in 30 minutes. Subaru says, even in cold weather thanks to the onboard battery conditioning system. Uncharted has plenty of EyeSight driver assist technology with available pre-collision braking, front cross traffic alert, blind spot monitors, lane departure alert, a panoramic monitor and other features.
