in my 10 years of playing, this is the most nerve-wracking demon i have ever completed. finally this is over! i was debating on beating this or Diffuse as a 200th and new hardest, but this was way less intense and manageable. it's even questionable if this is harder than diffuse or not, but i digress. like most demons i am practicing now, i first played this level YEARS ago. i don't remember when but 6-7 (haha) years ago seems about right. i remember being perplexed that it was much easier than most insane demons, despite having quite a few chokepoints (the Cataclysm part and the Windy Landscape part) but it was way out of my league at the time so i ignored it anyway. fast-forward to this year, where i completed JAJAGARASU, an XL Hard Demon, which really boosted my confidence to beat this level since they are so similar. they are both XL compilations of different themed parts. the only difference was that this was based on iconic demons at the time, and this was much less enjoyable, but i was oblivious to this at the time. so i started beating several easy and mediums to rack up the count to the 180-190, to make this the 200th, and this was when i started practicing this seriously. a few from-zero attempts every day. the most interesting thing about this level is that the parts themselves are not that hard, but the length makes the level extremely nerve-racking from the cataclysm part onward. it doesn't help that i could barely get consistent at the TOE2 part at the beginning, which makes it still unpredictable till today and right after the slow cataclysm wave, there is a sudden speed change to the fast nine circles part, which was in my opinion, the second hardest part in the entire level. and if the level is not nerve-racking enough, the hardest part in the entire level is the very last part, which is the Windy Landscape intro with its tight ship and strict timings, which i had to pass while my heart rate is at its highest. luckily there is a break right before which i always use to catch my breath. all in all, for a level that is a very wave-focused compilation of all the iconic levels from the era when i first started playing, it does seem like it was made for me, and beating this as a new hardest and 200th demon is definitely an honour. for now, i'll be playing this game less, since it's gonna be a busy internship/graduation year for me in 2026. love you.
