PM Vajpayee went Pakistan with a hope of reconciling both countries and Pak army back-stabbed India with occupation of Indian Posts during winter. This led to a war to drive out the Pakistanis from Indian posts. Indian Army joined by Indian Airforce launched an operation to kill the Pak Army soldiers disguised as Mujahiddins, and capture the posts. Indian Navy also strengthened it's Western command and was ready to blockade Pakistan if need be.
