Third Week of Advent: Thursday, December 18, 2025

Good morning, everyone! It's time for your daily Gospel, Psalm, and Reading. Today's Gospel talks about the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is expected that every baby born has a biological mother and father, but Mary was to give birth to a child with the help of the Holy Spirit. Mary was already pregnant before she lived together with her husband, Joseph. Joseph was planning to divorce her in secret, until an angel came to him, reassuring him of the prophecy that God had bestowed onto them. Joseph then took her into his house as his wife, and had remained holy, waiting for the birth of their son and savior. This Gospel reminds us of how special the birth of Christ was, for it was a pivotal event to save each and every one of us from eternal flames. However, we cannot accept this gift and forget about it like a present you received years ago. We must cherish this gift and give thanks to God for saving us from eternal flames, and celebrate His blessing in the celebration of the Eucharistic Mass. One Sunday Mass takes about an hour. Only one hour. We spend so much time in today's hustle culture. But God wants us to slow down this season. After completing a study session, or on your break, spend a few moments in silence with the Lord. Open up a Bible to see what God is trying to tell you.
