With the first confirmed Omicron death in the UK, the country is now in high alert with PM Boris Johnson having declared an 'Omicron Emergency', stating that "there is a tidal wave of Omicron coming". With Omicron variant contributing to 20% of all cases in England and 44% in London, the British government is now ramping up its vaccination programme and offering booster shots everyone above 18 starting this week. In India, no official decision has yet been announced on booster doses or the rollout of children's vaccines, however, Serum Institute CEO stated today that the Novovax jab for kids may be ready to be rolled out in six months.
