WRAZ Fox 50 News clips and promos March 26 and April 2 2002

Local news previews, clips, and promos for Fox 50 News on WRAZ from March 26 and April 2, 2002. Sometime in late 2001 or early 2002 Fox 50 News got new graphics and new anchors with Lynda Loveland and Ken Smith. Leon Smitherman does the weather. Ken Smith still anchors WRAL/Z News, but he's part of the morning team now and shaved the mustache long ago. Lynda Loveland continued to anchor the 10 o'clock news for the rest of the decade, but left the industry a few years ago to work in corporate communications. Leon Smitherman moved to Wichita, KS in 2003 and recently retired. Julia Lewis/Sims continued to cover Durham for many years (notably the Peterson trial and Duke Lacrosse cases), but has also left the industry. There's a promo in here about Miriam Thomas, long time ABC 11 WTVD anchor joining WRAZ in mid-April. Apparently the plan was to have her host the Fox 50 News solo, but instead she took an off-camera job with the station in community outreach. Loveland and Smith remained, and a few months later it was rebranded as "WRAL News on Fox 50".
