Vocabulary Practice: Use These 8 SAT Words in a Story (Unit 2, Video 9)

Our Vocabulary Activities are organized into units! They are ready-made lessons for you to use with your students. https://drive.google.com/drive/folder... To expand your vocabulary, you need to practice using new words. For today’s challenge you will need to incorporate the following 8 SAT-prepwords into a story–that’s right a story. You can write about anything you want, just write a story that incorporates these eight words. Perhaps you can write about the baseball player who was abysmal at hitting and was ostracized by his team after he went on a terrible slump. Or maybe you can write about the gregarious grandpa who was adamant that all people should listen to the Beatles. The purpose of this activity is to get you experimenting with new words. And If you are not sure how to use a word in a sentence, look up examples online and emulate those. So Once again, what you write about is up to you. Just be sure you incorporate the following eight words into a story. Abysmal: extremely bad; appalling. Gregarious: fond of company; sociable. Adamant: refusing to be persuaded or to change one's mind. Ostracize (verb): exclude (someone) from a society or group. Benevolent: well meaning and kindly. Conceited: excessively proud of oneself; vain. Cynical: believing that people are motivated by self-interest; distrustful of human sincerity or integrity. Expedite (verb): make (an action or process) happen sooner or be accomplished more quickly. 👉If you found this resource helpful, please support the channel by buying me a cup of coffee!
