World record by teenage batter Vaibhav Bihar's teenage batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi set a record on the first day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. At just 14 years of age, he set a world record in domestic one-day cricket. Vaibhav played a devastating innings of 190 runs off 84 balls in the match against Arunachal Pradesh held in Mahendra Singh Dhoni's hometown of Ranchi. His batting included 16 fours and 15 sixes. Arunachal bowlers were practically helpless in the face of this attack. Thanks to this innings, Vaibhav has set a world record for the youngest century in List A cricket. He achieved this feat at the age of just 14 years and 272 days. Notably, before that, he had no century to his name in List A cricket. On this day, he also set the record for the second fastest List A century among Indian batsmen by completing his century in 36 balls. The record for the fastest century in just one ball has not been touched. However, Vaibhav has set the world record for the fastest 150 runs. By completing 150 runs in just 54 balls, he surpassed AB de Villiers' long-standing record. Even though a double century seemed almost certain, Vaibhav's historic innings was stopped when he was dismissed by Techie Neri. Stay connected with us...
