Battle for Mosul: ISIL loses ground in Mosul but responds in Rutba

As the fight for Mosul rages on, ISIL fighters have been responding to battlefield losses elsewhere. They stormed the town of Rutba, in the western province of Anbar, killing several security forces before withdrawing. ISIL also attacked Kurdish Peshmerga in Sinjar, close to the Syrian border.
