After seven weeks under siege, a bombarded Mariupol faces the risk of full Russian control. Kremlin officials claim a resistance of roughly 25-hundred Ukrainian soldiers still remain in the city. Russia's defense ministry threatened the troops with an ultimatum expiring today. Saying either surrender or be destroyed. However, Ukraine's prime minister denies a complete takeover. "No the city still has not fallen, there is still our military forces, our soldiers, so they will fight until the end and as for now, they still are in Mariupol." Ukraine's Foreign Minister says the loss of Mariupol to Russia could also result in peace talks ending. After weeks of shelling and destruction, Ukraine estimates at least 21-thousand people have been killed and 100-thousand are left in the city without heat, food, and water. Shelling and death continue across Ukraine. Emergency responders were busy in Kharkiv again following multiple missile strikes reportedly hitting homes, a hospital, and a kindergarten school. Local police say at least five more are dead and 14 are injured. Locals who have fled the city to Romania fear a Russian encounter.
