This is one question that many couples ask who are fighting infertility issues and seeking help to conceive. There are several myths and misconceptions regarding infertility and IVF treatments. To know more, watch our previous video - 10 myths that won't help you conceive. Talking about the facts and figures, Dr. Reubina Singh tells that infertility is 3 times more common in obese women in comparison to women with normal weight. Overweight women are more prone to face infertility problems due to excessive fat deposition. Fat is hormonally active tissue. These active tissues keep producing hormones and they interfere with the normal hormonal volume of the body. Due to this overweight women can face: ● Irregular periods ● Anovulation ● Hyperinsulinemia ● Hyperandrogenemia ● A lot of hormonal imbalance In short, obesity and excessive hormonal production creates a complete PCOS type of symptoms, where the chances of infertility are very high. During the video, she agrees to the fact that obesity reduces the chances of natural pregnancy. The IVF specialist, Dr. Reubina Singh also says that if overweight women do get pregnant naturally, there can be complications during their pregnancy. And if they do not get pregnant naturally and opt for IVF, the success rate of IVF for obese women is also poor. Further explaining the reason behind the poor success rate of IVF with obese women, she says that due to obesity, there is a reduced number of oocytes retrieval. Meaning, the egg which is retrieved during the IVF is less and the quality of the egg is poor. Because of this, the embryo which is formed is not very good, the mature oocytes are also less and hence the number of embryo formation is also less. If the number of embryos formed is less then, automatically the number of embryos to be transformed is less and hence the chances of the success of the IVF are also poor. She further explains that such patients need higher doses of gonadotrophin and also requires a longer duration of gonadotropin dose. This means that they will be given more IVF injections with a higher dose. Watch our previous video on - Side effects of IVF injections. Further explaining the reason for a lower rate of IVF success in obese women, Dr. Reubina Singh says that before enrolling overweight women fir IVF, as a part of preconception counseling, they are advised to go for weight loss plans and weight loss is a gold standard for them. Advising the way to weight loss, she suggests that obese women ● Should eat 30% less than their normal diet ● Increase in the protein intake ● Completely cut down the fats and carbs in the diet ● Follow a healthy lifestyle ● Adapt to regular exercise and workout routines for at least 4-5 times a week for 45 minutes ● Going for the cardio exercises is a good option. Obese women take a longer time to conceive. And when these women conceive, they have higher chances of miscarriages and higher chances of pregnancy complications like: ● Increase in the incidents of gestational diabetes ● Increase in the chances of birth defects in the baby ● Also increased chances of preeclampsia or preterm labor. In the video, Dr. Reubina Singh further says that obesity does only affect female fertility but also affects males. Due to excessive fat deposition, there are excessive estrogens in the body, which causes a reduction in testosterone secretion. If there is a change in the testosterone level in the male body, in that case, the process of sperm formation is hampered. So such patients may have: ● Low sperm count ● Loss of libido, they do not feel like being together and are not aroused easily. ● And the loss of sperm mortality. The IVF specialist also says that apart from reducing the weight, the age of the patient, the year of marriage, and the time of planning the pregnancy, should also be kept in mind for obese couples. The IVF treatment for such patients is planned in a comprehensive way, in order to improve the chances of the success of IVF. 💬Email me: [email protected] Contact - 075580 95116 Website - https://www.graceivf.com Twitter -   / grace_ivf   Facebook -   / graceivf   Instagram -   / grace_ivf   GMB - https://g.page/grace-ivf?we Watch my previous video links- Effect of Plastic on Fertility- https://bit.ly/33m5JqB Tips to Boost Fertility Naturally- https://bit.ly/2Frb3Rs Foods to avoid when trying to get Pregnant- https://bit.ly/3bVtBW6 Realities of IVF - https://bit.ly/35x7Fzs Secrets of Success of IVF- https://bit.ly/3hqqQNk 🚫Disclaimer: Don't Try To Download & Copy Anything From This Channel.
