Saheena (Chip up)

This tasty treat is a popular Street Food here in Trinidad. Saheena can be made 2 ways Rolled or Chip up and served with Chutney and made famous in Deen with all the fixings including Channa . I roll young Dasheen Bush leaves finely chopped Salt to taste 1/4 cup Green Seasoning ( Shadon beni,garlic,chive,fine thyme) 1 tbsp finely chopped pimentos Hot pepper optional 11/2 tsp yeast 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp Tumeric 1 tsp dried fine thyme 2 packs Split Pea powder 2 cups flour Lukewarm Water to make a thick but not runny batter SECRET (add some grated mango/Pommecytre or boiled chutney for added flavor) Method Add all ingredients together as shown in the video Cover and let rest for 30-40 mins Using a spoon,dip the spoon in a bowl of water ,scope up sim of your saheena mix and fry on low medium heat until golden brown.
