The complete Contemporary service of Fields United Methodist Church from 10:45am Sunday, July 28, 2013. This was Women's Sunday, and Sharon Spieth provides the message for 'Sisters In Service', referencing Scripture from Romans 12:4-6, and Luke 10:38-42. The women of Common-Union share special music with 'I Exalt Thee', and Common-Union shares music with 'Forever God Is Faithful', 'The Stand', and 'My Redeemer Lives' with leader Chuck Collins. United Methodist Women recognize David and Darla Gray for they volunteerism and mission commitment at Fields. (Apologies for some audio glitches.) Sharon grew up in a United Methodist minister's family and met her husband Kent in college. She taught social studies at the Jr. hi level for 3 yrs in the Elyria Schools. While her children were young she taught Sunday School and was the Sunday School Superintendent at Lake Shore UMC. Before retiring she served 18 years as Christian Ed Director at Lakewood UMC and before that 12 years right here at Fields as our Christian Ed Director. She has been a member of the Board of Discipleship, member of the adult/family Council of the General Board of Discipleship, Co-chaired the Adult/Family Council at Annual Conference, chairperson of the Board of Discipleship and Council of Ministries Chairperson for the Norwalk District. She has been elected to General Conference twice and elected to Jurisdictional Conference 3 times. She has written several articles on Leisure Ministries for magazines that came out of Nashville. During her years on the Cleveland District she help build 10 plus homes for Habitat For Humanity and was on the Steering Committee and editor of the monthly United Methodist newsletter called The Carpenter's Square. She has also chaired the Leadership Academy Committee.
