From the sound of the waves to the echoes of history! 🌊🏛️ Join us for an incredible 320km road trip from Gokarna to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hampi, with a breathtaking stop at the massive Tungabhadra Dam. This is a journey from the hippie coast to the boulder-strewn landscapes of ancient India! What’s in this video: In this travel vlog, we leave the beaches of Gokarna behind and head inland across the heart of Karnataka. We take you through the scenic NH-67, making a mandatory stop at the Tungabhadra Dam in Hosapete—a site so vast it looks like an ocean in the middle of the land! Finally, we arrive in Hampi to witness one of the most stunning sunsets in the world amidst the ruins of a lost empire. 📍 Key Highlights & Stops: The Drive: Navigating the highway from the coast to the plains (NH-67). Tungabhadra Dam (TB Dam): Exploring the garden, the musical fountain, and the incredible panoramic view from the hilltop. Hampi Arrival: Checking into Varaha homestay and our first glimpse of the Virupaksha Temple. 💡 Travel Tips for this Route: Start Early: It’s a 7-8 hour journey including stops; leave by 6:00 AM to reach Hampi before sunset. TB Dam Visit: You usually have to take a government shuttle bus to reach the top of the dam; check the latest timings (usually 8 AM – 6 PM). Hydration is Key: As you move away from the coast toward Hampi, the temperature rises significantly. Carry plenty of water! 🔗 Useful Links: Book your Hampi tours on the Karnataka Tourism Official Website. Check Tungabhadra Board for dam water levels and park timings.
